What Type of Paint?

This is the most common question we get so here's a quick explanation. Most manufacturers can match each other's color formulas so we're more concerned with finding the best product for the surfaces we plan to cover with paint. Keep reading below for more information!

Products We Use

We are constantly educating ourselves about the latest innovations in paint technology. We use this information when estimating each job's unique challenges. For example: how much paint we'll need to cover a project (square footage); the manufacturer's mil depth specifications; VOC's and PPM (Volatile Organic Compounds measured in Parts Per Millimeter); sheens (flat, matte, semi-gloss, satin, etc.); surface material; and primer coatings.

Sherwin Williams

Our most commonly used brand. They sell a variety of different types of products to suit almost any job. We also get the best discount. Since SW is a nationwide chain that discount carries over into every store.

Benjamin Moore

Our second most commonly used brand. BM is our go-to paint supplier for cabinet paint and deck/fence/siding stain. All Benjamin Moore retail centers are individually owned and operated so discount varies by location.

Home Depot

We occasionally use Behr paints and stains. Most of their offerings are very good and paint/stain is reasonably priced. Our contractor discount doesn't really apply to POS (point of sale) and is instead rewarded annually.  The primary drawback is the distance of their stores to our office.

Lowe's

Valspar is a reasonable alternative and we will use when matching a client's previous paint products. However, Lowe's Hardware Stores are spaced very far apart, and Valspar is now manufactured by Sherwin Williams.
